Céline Schmidt advises clients in national and international disputes. She represents clients and their interests before authorities, state courts as well as in alternative dispute resolution, namely through out-of-court dispute resolution. Céline Schmidt’s practice focuses on advice and litigation in the areas of commercial and corporate law, liability law, contract law and debt enforcement and bankruptcy law. A particular focus of her interests lies in the area of collective redress.
Céline Schmidt studied at the Universities of Zurich and Neuchâtel (lic. iur., 2005) and at the University of California, Los Angeles (LL.M., 2011). She pursued further education in the field of mediation. Prior to joining Binder Rechtsanwälte, Céline Schmidt worked as an auditor at the District Court of Zurich and as a legal intern and an attorney-at-law in renowned commercial law firms in Zurich. In addition, she worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Civil Procedure, Private Law, Private International Law and Comparative Law of Prof. Dr. Tanja Domej at the University of Zurich. From 2018 to 2022, Céline Schmidt was a lecturer at the University of Zurich. Since 2016, she has been serving as a lecturer in the CAS “Justice of the Peace” at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
In her private life, Céline Schmidt enjoys cooking and has a (secret) weakness for American TV shows.
